COMPETITIONS FOR YOU TO ENJOY

We organise three competitions on almost every holiday and they all start on a round robin basis. You have the option of entering as many or as few as you wish. For the Pairs and Triples we need to know in advance as we pre-plan each event but the Singles is an enter on the week event, so we don't need to know until we ask for entries, usually on Tuesday morning.

1) We commence with a Pairs event that runs from Monday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, when we start the knockout rounds. We aim to start with round robin groups of 8, or 7 or 9 depending on entries, which ensures you get plenty of games. Your scorecards for all of these games are given to on arrival. Each card contains your playing time, your mat number and the names of your opponents, which enables you to plan your free time between games.

2) On Tuesday and Wednesday evening we also organise an after dinner two bowls singles event. We aim to start with round robin groups of three or four players. This event is played to a conclusion on Wednesday evening.

3) Our triples competition is usually a one day event on Thursday and we aim to start in round robin groups of three or four. Having this one-day competition enables you to have a whole day off to get out and about if you wish.

The finals for the Triples and Pairs are held on Friday morning, after which there is a presentation of the prize money and Personalised framed certificates to the winners and runners-up. Photos are then taken to put in the magazine Short Mat International.
